INSTRUCTOR
Larissa Mae Maranan-Montano is an instructor at the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management at the College of Home Economics. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management and completed the academic coursework of Master of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
She handles subjects on Marketing Management, Management Information Systems, Macro-Perspectives in Hotels, Restaurants, and Related Institutions, and Practicum. She also teaches a service course, HE 100 Family Life and Societal Development.
Her research focus is on consumer behavior, social media, and technology. Currently, she is writing her master’s thesis on online bridal communities’ role in planning pandemic weddings, where she uses netnography to collect data. She is also a co-author of a consumer research on food delivery preferences during the pandemic.
On March 2022, she earned the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics granted by the American Hotel Lodging Association. She holds membership positions in the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP).
Prior to joining the academe, she gained industry experience from Krispy Kreme Philippines as part of the marketing team. She also had her faculty immersion at the Diamond Hotel Philippines and Kindness Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
