INSTRUCTOR
Larissa Mae Maranan-Montano is an instructor at the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management at the College of Home Economics. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
She handles subjects on Marketing Management, Management Information Systems, Macro- and Micro-Perspectives in Hotels, Restaurants, and Related Institutions, and Practicum. She also teaches a service course, HE 100 Family Life and Societal Development.
Her research focus is on consumer behavior, social media, and technology. She has recently finished her master's thesis on wedding planning using virtual communities, where she used netnography to collect data. She is also a co-author of a consumer research study on food delivery preferences.
On March 2022, she earned the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics granted by the American Hotel Lodging Association. She holds membership positions in the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP).
Prior to joining the academe, she gained industry experience from Krispy Kreme Philippines as part of the marketing team. She also had her faculty immersion at the Diamond Hotel Philippines and the Kindness Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
