Assistant Professor
Assistant Professor Lilibeth Jordas Baylosis is the current Chair of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management at the College of Home Economics. She holds a baccalaureate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, a Master of Business Administration and completed the academic course work of the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
She has over 20 years of teaching experience in multi-culturally diverse higher education institutions. In 2010, she was sent by the University of the Philippines to Woosong University, Daejeon, South Korea, as an Exchange Professor. She handles subjects on Cost Control and Analysis, Operations Management, Facilities Planning and Design, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems in Hospitality and Strategic Management for undergraduate and graduate programs.
Aside from teaching, she handled various administrative positions in the University: Coordinator of the Office of Graduate Study, OIC-Director of the Balay Kalinaw, Faculty-in-Charge of the Tearoom and member of the Food Service Regulatory Committee, among others.
She had extensive experience in food service operations at Jollibee and other food service chains in the Philippines and the United States of America. Furthermore, she handles and facilitates training programs for line staff, middle managers and senior executives.
She is the founding adviser of the Eta Sigma Delta (ESD) International Hospitality Management Society, UP Alpha Chapter. She holds membership positions in the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP), the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (International CHRIE), and Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA).
Her past and current research focused on Work-life Balance, Consumer Behavior and Calorie labeling, Women in Hospitality, and Communication and Technology in Hospitality.
