Girlie Encallado Lee is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management at the College of Home Economics at the University of the Philippines. She handles subjects on Operations Management, Purchasing, Human Resource, and Franchising.

She earned her Master's Degree in Food Service Administration in the College of Home Economics at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Her Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration was also was also taken from the same university.  Before entering the academe, she specializes as a business consultant and operations manager with nationwide coverage to several food service business chains focuses on franchising, business development and operations.

Her research on Eco-Friendly Food Practices in the Food Carts and Kiosks in Five MRT Stations won the Best Paper Award at the Asia Pacific Tourism Association 2012 Conference. She published a paper entitled Responsible Environmental Behavior of Food Carts/Kiosks Employee in Five Metro MRT Stations in the Journal of ARAHE in 2021.
