Ms. Nancy Reyes-Lumen is a cook, Filipino food advocate, researcher, food writer, and stalwart Filipino cuisine ambassador. She is the self-proclaimed Adobo Queen, as she advocates making Filipino Adobo a culinary signature that can beckon Filipinos from all around the globe. Her best-selling publication, The Adobo Book, has captured the heart and palate of local and international foodies. As a freelance food writer, other books she published are The ALBA Book, The Malunggay Book, The Phillips Cookbook, and The Standard Cookbook.
Ms. Nancy’s other endeavor in promoting Filipino food is her co-hosting stint with Anton Diaz for the Adobo Connections segment of Our Awesome Planet. This live-streaming platform promotes the Philippines and its cuisine. She is also a chef instructor for Cozymeal USA, where she holds cooking classes for adobo, sushi, paella, and other Filipino and Asian dishes.
Being a Filipino food advocate is in Ms. Nancy’s blood as she hails from the Reyes clan of Aling Asiang of the Aristocrat Group. She is based in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Roberto, and is the proud mother of Chef Joey Herrera of ISCAHM. Ms. Nancy is a BS HRA alumnus, having graduated from the program in 1974.
